Description
Blake Cashman is a linebacker for the Houston Texans football team. He currently wears the number 53 and his jersey comes in both olive and gold colors as part of the league’s “Salute to Service” campaign, which honors the military.
Cashman was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft out of the University of Minnesota. However, he missed most of his rookie season due to injury. In 2020, he played in nine games for the Vikings before being traded to the Texans during the offseason.
During his college career at Minnesota, Cashman was known for his athleticism and versatility on defense. He played both outside and inside linebacker, and excelled in pass coverage as well as against the run. His impressive play earned him All-Big Ten honors in his senior year.
As a member of the Texans, Cashman will look to contribute to a defense that ranked near the bottom of the league in several key categories last season. With his speed and tackling ability, he could provide a boost to the team’s linebacking corps and help improve their performance on defense.
